Career Day Spotlight!🐯

Our Nursing, Pharmacy, and Exercise Science CTE classes had an incredible opportunity to explore careers in healthcare! Mrs. Robinson invited her coworkers from the emergency department to share about their education, training, and daily work. Students got to hear directly from doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and an LPN!

What an inspiring way to see Tigers connect with future careers!

Remembering and Honoring 9/11

For the seventh year, WHS teacher Sam Studer brought together students, staff and local first responders for the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Reflections were shared by the North Lawrence Fire Department and staff, followed by the National Anthem from the Massillon Tiger Swing Band.

Among the climbers was Brayden Byers, who first participated as a student in 2019 and returned this year as a firefighter with the North Lawrence Fire Department. Teams climbed 110 flights of stairs, carrying weights and symbolically rescuing six “civilians” represented by American flags.

Two awesome things happened at Massillon Rotary today!🧡🐯🖤 🇺🇸Our WHS Assistant Principal, Renee Parr, presented about Washington High School’s Purple Star designation in honor of 9/11. 📸And a big congratulations to Abbi Kanipe and Izzy Daniska, who were recognized as Rotary Students of the Month for their work as Yearbook editors! They were joined by their advisor, Alyssa Meissner! We are so proud of our Tigers representing Massillon with excellence in the community!

This morning we kicked off the first-ever Tiger Invitational and welcomed 18 teams!🐯

Before the teams teed off, everyone paused for a moment of silence to honor 9/11. The National Anthem followed, beautifully performed on trumpet by Sean Monigold.

A meaningful start to a great day on the course! 🧡🖤

Aiden Koehler shot a low 9 hole for a school record 5 under 31 on his back 9 to come in second place overall! The boys team came in 5th overall!

As part of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts training our teachers experienced at the start of the year, many are using strategies to build strong classroom communities!

In Mrs. Spino's classroom, students worked together to create a Social Contract by answering four important questions:

1️⃣How do you want to be treated by the teacher?
2️⃣How do you want to be treated by each other?
3️⃣How do you think the teacher wants to be treated by you?
4️⃣How do you want to treat each other when there is conflict?

This process encourages respect, responsibility, and collaboration which helps students take ownership of how they learn and grow together.🧡🐯
