Due to excessive heat forecasted as well as a heat index warning for Tuesday, August 24th and Wednesday, August 25th, Franklin, Gorrell and Whittier Elementaries will be closed. Kindergarten students will no longer have staggered start days. All Kindergarten through third grade students will return to the buildings on Thursday, August 26th.
With evening low temperatures being in the 70s and high temperatures in the 90s, the heat index within the building will be over 100 degrees. In an effort to assist our families in planning for these days, we wanted to do our best to put this information out as soon as possible.
The Massillon Public Preschool, Washington High School, Massillon Junior High School and Massillon Intermediate School buildings WILL remain open.
