The fun continues at Akron Zoo Camp! Yesterday, our campers had an awesome time learning all about boa constrictors. They even got to see one up close!🐍


This week and next, some of our 3rd and 4th graders are diving into the wild world of the Akron Zoo Camp!🦁🐯🐻
They're exploring various zoo careers and meeting ambassador animals! In this snapshot, students are dissecting owl pellets and identifying the animals they came from. Such a fun and educational experience!🦉🔍

Our 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school students had the opportunity to showcase their writing skills in an essay contest sponsored by One Tiger Inc. recently!📝
Students were asked to write an essay about why Massillon is special to them and share personal stories that highlight their reasoning!
Cash prizes were awarded for each grade level! A big THANK YOU to One Tiger for encouraging our students to showcase their English composition skills!

Exploring the Animal Kingdom!🐯🐵🐠🐧
Students from Mrs. Sirgo’s kindergarten class and Mrs. Sorensen’s 3rd grade class joined forces to create an animal book! After exploring the zoo virtually, each student duo selected an animal, wrote about the animal and created beautiful illustrations! They celebrated yesterday with a book unveiling and donuts!

Mrs. Sorensen’s 3rd grade students presented their biography projects in a very unique way today! Each student created a poster board, complete with a cut-out for their face, transforming themselves into the historical figures they researched! They gave their presentations in character, sharing stories and achievements as if they were the person themselves!📚

Our WHS freshman Physical Sciences classes completed the egg drop challenge yesterday! Students were challenged to build a structure to protect the egg from breaking when dropped from a certain height!







Making a Difference Together! 🌟
Our WHS Exercise Science students from the Classes of 2023 and 2024 have come together to make an impact! They successfully raised funds to create a sensory room for our MD classroom at Washington High School.🧡
A sensory room features calming lights, soothing sounds and interactive elements to help relax, focus and engage senses.






Exploring the Renaissance in Mrs. Shrader's 5th grade Language Arts classes at MIS has been an artful adventure!🎨✨
From diving into the world of Leonardo da Vinci to channeling Michelangelo's creative process, these students are embracing history in a whole new way. With their own modern twists on the Mona Lisa and ceiling masterpieces inspired by the Sistine Chapel, these young artists are showing such creativity!

Last week was a blast from the past as our WHS seniors who went to Gorrell Elementary reunited with their 3rd grade teachers to unlock the time capsule they made in 3rd grade! From future dreams to cherished memories, it was so fun to see what has changed and what has stayed the same! What a heartwarming reminder of the journey they have all been on together!🎓🌟
