WHS is hosting a mandatory mtg for the parents of students planning to take a CCP course in 22-23. Meeting is scheduled for Tues, Dec 7th at 6pm-WHS Aud. Bring something to to sign in/complete the paperwork. Families with students already enrolled in CCP do NOT need to attend.

Greetings! We will be administering the ASVAB career exploration program assessment on October 25 26th and 27th. This assessment will be given to primarily sophomore students during mods 1-4. The purpose of this ASVAB assessment is to help students learn more about themselves in the world of work, explore occupations in line with their interests and skills, and develop effective strategies to realize their career and educational goals. No one passes or fails this assessment and the score is not reflective in their school grades. Every student will receive a summary results sheet and will participate in a post test/career workshop to better understand their scores. Have a great evening!

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION NIGHT Senior students and parents, please join us on Tuesday, October 12 at 6pm at WHS in room C100 as we welcome back WHS alum Scott Lehman to talk about financial aid for college and all updated FAFSA information. Light refreshments will be provided.

We will be holding our 2021 Homecoming Dance for WHS students in grades 9-12 on Saturday, October 9 from 700-1000 inside of Paul Brown Tiger Stadium! Attached are guidelines and expectations related to this event. Please review to enjoy a wonderful evening!

Please make sure you are taking advantage of the optional Chromebook insurance this year for only $25 per device per year. This must be paid by October 1st, 2021 If this optional insurance fee is not paid by Oct. 1st, your child will not have Chromebook insurance this year. Due to the drastic cost increases and availability of Chromebooks, we have changed the insurance offering slightly but kept the cost to you still only $25. Changes that are important for you to know: 1. If you don't pay the $25 by October 1st, your insurance will be invalidated (canceled). 2. Repairs are not unlimited. You get 3 repairs a year; after that, you pay out of pocket for the cost of the repair. 3. Willful destruction isn't covered by insurance. The tech department determines what we deem as willful destruction, and will document with photos. 4. The Chromebook replacement cost is $300.00. 5. Chromebook insurance does NOT cover lost accessories (AC adapters, cases, or bags). If you prefer to complete a hard copy of the application, pick up a form in Mrs. Maxin's Office/Room D200 or the Main Office. Parent/Guardian signature/approval is required. The discounted cost is $5.00 if purchased prior to Labor Day (September 6th). After Labor Day, the cost increases to $10. Attention WHS students/parents! As students receive their Chromebooks, there is a possibility of damage to them at some point during the school year. Insurance is available for $25 and covers accidental damage such as drops/spills/cracked screen/liquid submersion/fire/flood/natural disaster/power surge. Things NOT covered include: lost/vandalized/theft/cosmetic damage. If interested, payment is due Alison Wood at WHS Front Door by September 3, 2021.

Students, Feel free to sign into your Home Access Center/Sungard to view your 21-22 class schedule. The ONLY schedule changes that can occur at this point is a drop for a study hall, IF you will have 6 classes remaining after the drop. YOU CANNOT CHANGE AN ELECTIVE COURSE OR YOUR LUNCH MOD. The schedules are still temporary as the counselors continue to work on balancing classes. EVERY WHS STUDENT MUST report to homeroom on Thursday, August 19 to start their day. Here, students will receive their official schedule for the first semester. All homeroom assignments have been posted on the front of Washington HS in 3 different locations. If you do not know what homeroom to report to, please stop to view before entering WHS on the first day of school. ***Home Access Center codes will be mailed home next week.
