Next week, we will be celebrating Ohio Veterans & Military Family Spirit Week to honor and show appreciation for those who have served—and continue to serve—our country, as well as their families. Throughout the week, students and staff are encouraged to participate in themed dress-up days that promote gratitude, unity, and respect for our veterans and military families.

Our Student Council is hosting a Massillon/Mckinley Spirit Week decorating contest. Students can pick up posters in Ms. Sullivan's room (Choir room 300) throughout the day. Signs need to be turned in next Wednesday, the 15th to Ms. Sullivan. Students should add their name and grade to the BACK of the poster. Extracurricular Behavior Expectations
Be Kind! Be Respectful! Be Responsible! Be Safe!
You may be removed from the game and/or severe school consequences for violation of stadium rules.
You are a Massillon Tiger: Respect the athletes, band members, cheerleaders, fans, and facility.
Clean your area before leaving.
Students should enter the stadium on the home side.
You are to remain in your seats during the game (Section 1 for Football games)
You may leave to go to the Concession Stands 2 minutes before halftime, Must return to the student section (1) when players return to the field).
You may sit with your parent/guardian, you will not be able to travel back and forth
Students running around, fighting, using profanity, and/or not in their assigned areas (with their parents or in section 1) may face school discipline.
School rules apply even when attending extracurricular events.
If you are hanging out under the stands, you will be asked to return to your seat or leave the game.
No bookbags or bikes are permitted in the stadium.
No Re-Entry if you leave the stadium

Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 7th graders will have the opportunity to participate in our Fourth Quarter Reward. For this reward we plan to take the students to an Akron RubberDucks baseball game, located at 300 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44308. This is an exciting trip during which students will make memorable moments with friends and staff that will last a lifetime.
Students will eat lunch while on the field trip. The cost of the baseball game ticket includes a sandwich, apple sauce pouch, cookie, and bottle of water. Concession stands at the baseball game will be open if students want to bring money for extra snacks. The students will leave school at approximately 9:30am and will return to school around 1:45 pm.
Students who meet the requirements and choose to participate in this exciting opportunity will need to return the payment to their Block 1 teacher by Friday, May 16, 2025.
Cost to attend is $12.
Student requirements to be invited:
Must have emergency medical form on file (Final Forms completed)
Must have no more than 5 missing assignments
No ISC or OSS for 4th quarter (from April 2nd - Day of Trip-May 20)
*If a student has paid for the trip but receives ISC/OSS at any point during the 4th quarter, up to and including May 14, he/she will not be permitted to attend and will receive a refund.
Please note that administration reserves the right to permit/restrict participation based on the criteria above and other areas not identified regarding behavior. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 330-830-3902 extension 52700.

This is an exciting trip for students who have earned the opportunity to attend in celebration of their time at Massillon Junior High School. Students will be attending during Cedar Point’s designated Physics, Science & Math week. Our 7th and 8th graders will be taking the Ohio State Tests (AIR Tests) starting Monday, April 7th in the area of ELA. Ohio’s State Tests measure student progress toward Ohio’s Learning Standards. Dates are:
April 7th & 8th (ELA Part 1 & Part 2), April 23rd & April 24th (Math Part 1 & Part 2), April 28th & April 29th (Science Part 1 & Part 2- 8th Grade only)
**Headphones are required for Science and Math tests. If your student has headphones, bring them on these days. If not, headphones can be provided.**
How to help your child prepare:
Be sure your child gets to school on time each of these days.
Be sure your child gets enough rest the night before their test.
Avoid scheduling appointments on these days if possible.
Be sure your child eats a good breakfast either at home or at school each morning.
Send your child to school with positive thoughts and encouragement to do his/her best.
