Director's Message ~

Welcome to Massillon City Schools Career Technical Education. We are fortunate here at Washington High School to have our own technical center built within our academic building. Our facilities are state of the art & provide a work-like environment. Massillon Washington High School’s 12 CTE workforce development programs serve approximately 70% of our Sophomore, Junior and Senior class population. Additionally our Family Consumer Science courses offer a variety of electives to attain valuable content & skills and we are proud to provide Career Technical Education at MJHS grades 7-8 offering 5 different pathways for students to explore. We have a dedicated CTE staff that makes the coursework for our students a valuable & relative learning experience in that career path. Many of our instructors have valuable experience in the field and are able to offer these experiences in their daily instruction as well as the ability to network within the business & industry to create more relevant opportunities for their students. We strive to help our students find a successful pathway to their future. Post-secondary alignment, employment preparation and skill attainment are many of the areas we assist in this guidance. All of our programs offer multiple college credit opportunities with the department of higher education, partnered universities and additionally offer aligned college credit plus courses for free providing a higher level of curriculum. Work based learning opportunities are also delivered in the areas of shadowing, field experience, internships, co-ops and on site customer service. We partner with several area businesses and corporations to make this possible. Aligned industry credentials and certifications can also be attained in ALL pathways.  All of our students have the opportunity to participate and compete in their aligned career technical student organization (DECA, HOSA, Skills USA, BPA and Educators Rising). This provides a fun and engaging way to extend their skills and thinking. Year after year several CTE students qualify and compete at the local, state and national levels providing invaluable experiences along the way.  Career Technical Student Organizations are enriching and offer an in depth look at the competitive nature of the career field around the state and even the country.. Make sure you follow us on X @MassillonCTE for updated events and highlights. I have no doubt that this will be another fantastic year for our students and staff. If you need information or have questions about any of our Career Technical programs please don’t hesitate to contact me. Feel free to schedule any time for a site/facility visit. We would be more than happy to show you what we have to offer. Just call the CTE office at 330-830-3901 Ext: 50206 to set up an appointment. We look forward to serving you.
