12/22/2020 Quarantine Length and Sports Participation
Questions continue to arise about quarantine and sports. Below you will find the question posed by OHSAA and the response from ODH.
If an athlete ends quarantine in a shortened time frame of 7 or 10 days, are they allowed to resume sports such as basketball and wrestling?
- No. To minimize the risk of coronavirus transmission, athletes should wait until 14 days of symptom monitoring have passed, as they would not be able to social distance or wear a mask during active practice or play. Such athletes are allowed to return to class sooner as there they can social distance (at least 6 feet) and wear a mask when around others.
