Andrew Gillogly Receives Silver Key Award
Congratulations to Andrew Gillogly, who was recently named a recipient of the North East Central Ohio Scholastic Art Competition Award. Andrew will be awarded A Silver Key in recognition for his outstanding work in the area of two-dimensional Visual Art. The selected work titled "Cheetah," represents the animal in its natural habitat. Andrew's work will be displayed at the Kent State University Stark Campus from January 19th through February 3rd.
At the young age of 4, Andrew took an interest in drawing cartoons and animals. His love for art only continued as he grew older. When thinking about his favorite type of art, it is hard for Andrew to choose just one type. He enjoys everything from painting to digital designs.
"I like to design whatever is inspiring me at the moment," said Gillogly.
During his time at Washington High School, Andrew's favorite course has been AP Art. He has been in this class that Andrew has been given an opportunity to create a 24 piece portfolio displaying his artwork.
After high school, Andrew plans to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design to major in Animation and minor in Business. He is interested in pursuing a career in Concept Design, which involves designing characters or set pieces from the very beginning.
Be sure to stop by the Kent State University Stark Campus now through February 3rd to view Andrew's award winning piece of art!
