High School Curriculum

Our high school offers three major academic programs which are; College Preparatory, College/Career Technical Education and a modified education. High School diplomas approved by the State of Ohio are awarded following the completion of the high school program.

For more information regarding course selection please preview our Washington High School Program of Studies. This publication has been prepared for parents, teachers, and students to inform them about the programs offered and courses taught in the secondary school, grades nine through twelve. The relationships & sequences of subjects are important in planning each student’s program of study.

Ohio Graduation Requirements

It is important to have an understanding of the high school graduation requirements for students who will graduate in 2019 and beyond. In order to graduate, a student must successfully complete 21 credits and meet one of three options offered by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
  • Earning at least 18 points on seven end-of-course state tests;
  • Earning at least 12 points through industry credential and workforce readiness; or
  • Earning "remediation-free" scores in Language Arts and Mathematics on a nationally recognized college admissions examination (ACT, SAT).
For a more detailed look at the credit requirements and the three options, please go to Graduation Requirements 2019 and Beyond on the ODE website.
