The Massillon City School District’s Curriculum Department is committed to ensuring academic excellence in every classroom of every school so that all children perform at high levels. The Curriculum Department will provide support to teachers and students in the following areas; Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, Professional Development, Gifted Education and Technology.

This year we will focus on implementing Ohio’s New Learning Standards K-12. The New Learning Standards include the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Math and the revised Academic Content Standards for Social Studies and Science. You can access our full Common Core Transition plan by clicking here. Our laser like focus on the New Learning Standards will allow all teachers to create lessons that are rigorous and relevant and prepare all of our students for the PARCC assessments which will begin in 2014-2015. To learn more about the curricular resources please visit our MCSD Curriculum Corner Blog.

Please feel free to contact the Curriculum office if you have any questions. We can be reached at 330-830-3900 extension # 50156.

Have a great school year!
