Education: University of Akron- Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Business Education, National Beauty College- Cosmetology Course, Licensed by the State of Ohio as a Managing Cosmetologist and Instructor

Work Experience: 28 years with the Massillon City School District: 23 years as a Cosmetology Teacher and 5 years as Accounting teacher at Washington High School

Hobbies: Spending time with my husband and three children, traveling, boating, and watching high school sports,especially the Tigers

Education: Kent State University-Teaching Certification; Walsh College & Ashland University-Continuing Education; Cosmetology Instructor License; Matrix total image consultant & Advanced Aesthetics Certifications.

Work Experience: 21 years teaching Cosmetology at WHS; 11 years in salon industry as a stylist/nail tech, salon education, marketing and sales. 2 Years with MCTV as a show host/co-host.

Hobbies: Psychology related studies Spending time at the pool/beach, NASCAR, Taking long walks with my Rottweiler(Gabriel)

COSMETOLOGY AS A PROGRAM & PROFESSION

Cosmetology offers awesome career opportunities in hair design, haircutting, coloring, and texturizing services. The program also trains students in nail technology and skincare, which are now two of the top rated services in the salon and spa industry today. Students enrolled in cosmetology will find themselves working with top of the line products in a beautiful upscale facility. The hands-on experiences include everything from basic skills to the trendiest and most innovative styles and techniques used in the industry today! Students who complete and pass the required coursework will take the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam their senior year. Upon passage of the exam, students who choose to continue their education will be eligible to receive 30 college credit hours towards their Technical Studies/Business degree at Akron or Kent State Universities. If you are looking for an exciting and rewarding career where your creativity is limitless, then cosmetology is for you!
